Jangan Pikirin Abang...

Lirik Jangan Pikirin Abang oleh Firman ft Alice

Jangan pikirin abang
Jangan rasain abang
Yang penting happy saya
Nggak ada yang gratis, abang
Susahnya jadi orang yang jatuh cinta
Berikan semua yang abang punya
Mati pun abang mau untukmu seorang
Jangankan harta, susah pun rela

Jangan pikirin abang
Jangan rasain abang
Yang penting happy saya
Nggak ada yang gratis, abang
Susahnya kalau cinta yang berbicara
Pahit pun jadi manis tersiksa rela
Jangan pikirin abang
Jangan rasain abang
Yang penting happy saya
Nggak ada yang gratis, abang
Ya abang
Ya sayang
Ya abang
Ya sayang
Aku cinta kamu selamanya
Buktikan kepadaku
Janjilah ya abang
Bahagiakan aku di dunia
Jangan pikirin abang
Jangan rasain abang
Yang penting happy saya
Nggak ada yang gratis, abang
Susahnya jadi orang yang jatuh cinta
Berikan semua yang abang punya
Mati pun abang mau untukmu seorang
Jangankan harta, susah pun rela

The Kuala Lumpur-Kuantan route would involve five districts -- Bentong, Bera, Temerloh, Maran and Kuantan.

This project will make an impact on Pahang's social and economic sectors, especially in the districts affected.

The project would create more employment for people through the development of projects, such as the Kuantan Port City project, Oil Palm Industrial Cluster, Wood Industrial Park in Temerloh, Pahang Technology Park and the Bentong Mixed Industrial Park, along the route.

The districts involved would progress and develop with a more modern and efficient transportation network connecting them to the Klang Valley.

The History Of Temerloh : The Story Of Batin Seridun And Prince Sujudbilang

Temerloh is a developed and organised town. It is located in Central Pahang and is the meeting point between the East Coast and the West Coast of Peninsula Malaysia. It is also well-known as ‘Bandar Ikan Patin’ (patin town) due to the abundance of patin (silver catfish) in this town which is situated near the Pahang River.

Now a little about the history of Temerloh. According to old Malay legend, Temerloh was not only the final destination of Batin Seridun, but it is also the seat from where he ruled the area between Senyum Mountain to the west and Gebuk Hill to the east. Temerloh was chosen by Batin Seridun as the name of one of the districts in the state of Pahang since its inception on 1st July 1889.

According to Batin Seridun legend, once upon a time a prince from Minangkabau, called Sujudbilang, and his brothers left Minangkabau. They sailed to Daik and from there to Pahang. Upon granted permission by the Pahang Bendahara, they cruised along the Pahang River in a wooden boat. After going upstream for some time, their boat arrived at a place called Sentang, Mukim Kertau in the district of Maran. Hearing people on land, the brothers docked and came on land to scout the surroundings.

Unfortunately the arrival of Sujudbilang and his brothers were not welcomed by the natives. As a result, Sujudbilang and his brothers tried to befriend the indigenous people who lived near the river banks. Sujudbilang was said to have told his brothers “Friendliness is the beginning, a source of kindness to attract the heart, and desire”. His brothers understood his meaning.

From then onwards, the brothers would stop wherever they come across a village of the indigenous people. They gave salt and tobacco to the people as a means to befriend them. Eventually they arrived at Batin Seridun’s base. Upon their arrival, they landed, bringing salt and tobacco. This resulted in a solid and strong relationship between Sujudbilang and Batin Seridun. This was apparent in the cooperation and togetherness between them in hunting for food.

At night they slept on the ground covered with dried leaves around the fire while the womenfolk slept separately, away from the men. Among them, only the daughter of the Batin could not sleep unless her pallet was well cushioned.

According to the tale, mereloh meant ‘sleeping’ in the language of the indigenous people. Therefore, the communal sleeping area was called tempat mereloh (sleeping place). Sujudbilang and his brothers shortened it to “Temerloh” as it is shorter and easier to say. This is the origin of Temerloh and the Temerloh River. The relationship between Sujudbilang and Batin Seridun became closer upon the marriage of Sujudbilang and Batin Seridun’s daughter, Bakoi. The marriage also resulted in Batin Seridun and his people converting to Islam. The conversion was conducted by Sujudbilang. This event led to the expansion of Islam in Central Pahang.

On 1st July 1889, J. P. Roger started office as the first British Resident in Pahang. He divided Pahang into six administrative districts – Pekan, Kuala Pahang, Kuantan, Temerloh and Hulu Pahang. This meant the name of Batin Seridun’s place of residence which was under the rule of Sujudbilang was chosen as the name of one of the district in Pahang. At that time the town was called Kuala Semantan. The name was changed to Temerloh when a new town opened to the west of Kuala Semantan in 1898.

Raub Former mining town is now taking a different course for academic and agricultural excellence.

Despite being one of the oldest townships in the country, Raub has not lost its vigour and charm.

The former mining town is still abuzz with activities while development is taking shape at its own pace.

Besides the mushrooming of new housing schemes, shoplots were also expanding steadily.

Over the next three years, a branch campus of Universiti Teknologi Mara costing RM230 million is expected to be completed.

In addition, a RM148 million Institut Kemahiran Mara will be built on a 10ha site to provide skills training to some 2,000 youths and school leavers.

To reduce traffic congestion, a new highway from Simpang Pelangai to Merapoh has been planned so that Kelantanese travelling back home need not drive into Raub town.

Already the construction of the  road from Relong to Merapoh in phase 2 is just started. The road from Kg Bukit Kota-Aur Gading-Chegar Perah is 27.7 km long which costs of RM130 million.

Other projects earmarked to benefit Raub residents include upgrading of water piping system and basic infrastructures in housing settlements and new villages such as futsal courts, mosques, parks, taxi stand, bus station and a new landfill.

There are also plans to promote Raub as an agricultural town and agro-tourism destination with many homestay-style establishments sprouting especially in Kampung Sungai Pasu and Sang Lee.

On the first week of every Sunday, there is the Sunday Bike Ride campaign in which residents are encourage to cycle around town to promote a healthy lifestyle and cleaner environment.

Products such as durians, groundnuts and bean curd are being commercialised to attract more visitors during weekends, school and public holidays.

Raub residents can also take pride in having a scenic Taman Tasik Raub for them to partake in exercise and other recreational activities such as picnicking, boating and fishing.

On the part of the private sector, a proposal to construct a RM300 million gold park and historical museum is on the cards, awaiting approval from the state government.

If given the green light, the project – similar to the concept in Brisbane, Australia – is expected to further boost tourist arrival.

Back in the 1700s, Raub was a historic gold mining thriving township. The town obtained its name from the word “meraub” meaning prospecting gold near river embankments using hands and other simple devices such as a dulang (tray).

Raub became famous in the early 20th century and gold mining which one of the biggest in the world was operated by the Raub Australian Gold Mine (RAGM) led by William Bibby from 1896 until 1961.

Back then, the shaft mining method was employed at the Raub Hole, now known as Bukit Koman.

The area was once dubbed as “Malaysian gold capital” or "El-Dorado"  due to the rapid development of gold mining.

In 1999, Raub Australian Gold Mining (M) Sdn Bhd resumed gold mining activities on a smaller scale near Bukit Koman before moving to a higher scale operation about three years ago.

At the height of the Communist insurgency, new settlements were erected namely Cheroh, Sang Lee, Sungai Ruan, Sungai Chetang, Bukit Koman, Sempalit, Sungai Lui, Tras and Sungai Klau.

Colonial-style buildings are still evident especially along Mason Road (now known as Jalan Tengku Abdullah) such as the old Raub police station, built in 1905.

After the gold deposit was depleted, Raub turned to agriculture comprising natural rubber, oil palm, cocoa and local fruits as its main economic activity.

The Raub Agroparks which specialise supplying biotech agro input in cosmetics products will bring many revenues to Raub economy.

The Abandoned Ulu Dong Mini Hydro Should Be Revived

The Abandoned Ulu Dong Mini Hydro

The abandoned Ulu Dong mini hydro was once running very smoothly until it was 'given' to a local company to operate and maintained in the name of the New Economic Policy and this is what we get when it was handed back to the original owner after it was damaged beyond repair after a few years.

This Ulu Dong mini hydro capacity can generate 550 kw.

A tree growing on the pipe joint.

The mini hydro plant or whatever is left of it.

The beam of the overhead crane is still there, probably it is too heavy for
the metal thiefs to cart away.

I was wondering how the pipe can break off like that?

Well! The force of mother nature is very powerful and can do a whole lot of damage
if it is not controlled and maintained properly by the operators of the plant.

Hutan Lipur Lata Jarum is just below the dam and it is maintained
 by the Forestry Department.

Sungai Sempam Hydropower Plant Of Today...

Sempam Mini Hydro

Sempam Mini hydropower plant is located about 7km from the village of Tras not far from Raub. Build by William Bibby of the Raub Australian Gold Mining Company Limited, construction works started in 1897 and it was commissioned on July 1900. It is the first hydropower plant and also the first power plant in Malaya and it is a real wonder to have a plant build 113 years ago still intact and running smoothly.

From its initial 300bhp or about 220kw it had been upgraded to its present 1MW(1,000KW) of electricity and it is connected to the national grid via transmission lines.
