The Abandoned Ulu Dong Mini Hydro Should Be Revived

The Abandoned Ulu Dong Mini Hydro

The abandoned Ulu Dong mini hydro was once running very smoothly until it was 'given' to a local company to operate and maintained in the name of the New Economic Policy and this is what we get when it was handed back to the original owner after it was damaged beyond repair after a few years.

This Ulu Dong mini hydro capacity can generate 550 kw.

The small dam that supplies water to the mini hydro.

Pipe to the turbine further down the hill.

A tree growing on the pipe joint.

The mini hydro plant or whatever is left of it.

The beam of the overhead crane is still there, probably it is too heavy for
the metal thiefs to cart away.

I was wondering how the pipe can break off like that?

Well! The force of mother nature is very powerful and can do a whole lot of damage
if it is not controlled and maintained properly by the operators of the plant.

Hutan Lipur Lata Jarum is just below the dam and it is maintained
 by the Forestry Department.

Malah kos sampai mencecah berjuta ringgit. Kenapa Kerajaan tak cari jalan untuk kurangkan kos?

Semua pihak ada kepentingan peribadi chittt.
